Register for the 2024 Quaker Youth Retreat today and join us at Scattergood Friends School in West Branch, IA for a weekend of fellowship and learning. Attendees will learn how they can impact change in their communities and around the world through several American Friends Service Committee programs. Attendees will also have an opportunity to work with a local non-profit on a service project, enjoy games, song circles, bonfires, and more.
Retreat attendees will be staying in our Meeting House, supervised by Scattergood staff members and should plan to bring a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, pillow, towel and toiletries, and a water bottle.

Friday April 19
5 pm: Earliest arrival time

7-9 pm: Games & snacks in the student lounge and review retreat expectations
9 pm: Night games

8 am: Get up & re-set the meeting house for the day
9-10:30: Farm visit (optional)

11:00-12:45 Workshop: Actions for a Just World
with Brian Blackmore of American Friends Service Committee
1 pm: Ultimate Frisbee game
2-4pm: Cooking or Town Trip
4pm-7 pm: Service project in Iowa City: Catholic Worker House meal
8:00-8:45 pm: Theater Games
9:30: Bonfire at the Scattergood pond
