- Maintenance and Miscellany
Harold was a student at Scattergood from 1993-98, then traveled around the States for 6 years living and working in different places. In 2004, he moved to England, where he also lived and worked in a variety of places, until returning to the States in 2010. Highlights (in chronological order) include: Planting geoducks in the Pacific Northwest; remodeling a home in San Antonio, Texas; leading rock climbing trips in Virgina; co-leading backpacking trips for Scattergood in Utah and Missouri; WWOOFing in New Zealand, working in a chocolate factory in York, England; working for Lloyds in London; tutoring special needs students in London, Oxfordshire and Berkshire; clearing hiking trails in the Gila Wilderness, New Mexico; and building a small house for his mother, also in New Mexico.
Harold returned to Scattergood largely by accident. He came to help in July of ’15 with the new summer camp program and turned out to be useful for other things too. He enjoys living and working in a small community made up of wonderful people from all over the world.
