Dave Reeve comes to Scattergood with a long history in education from teaching in an outdoor school in Cape Cod to 8th grade math and science at New Roads School in Santa Monica. Before joining the faculty at Scattergood, Dave taught physical chemistry, middle school math and other courses at Princeton Day School in Princeton, New Jersey for 28 years. Dave also coached basketball, cross country and golf over the years.
Dave’s 30 years as a counselor and division head of an overnight camp in Pennsylvania was a significant inspirational factor that propelled him into teaching. When not teaching, Dave enjoys backpacking, cooking, kayaking, canoeing, taking things apart and putting them together, making sense of the world, playing golf, basketball and exploring natural history.
In the summer of 1997, Dave hiked the Appalachian Trail, Georgia to Maine. This helped prompt him to lead a hiking trip on a section of the AT with Scattergood students during two May terms.
