Dana grew up in the Washington DC area and got her first taste of Quakerism as a freshman at Sidwell Friends School. Her appreciation for Quaker ideals deepened through twenty years of work with the Baltimore Yearly Meeting Camping Program. Dana graduated from Swarthmore College with a degree in Biology and came to work at Scattergood in 1993. Over her time at Scattergood, Dana has taught many subjects and also been a farmer and a cook. These days she coordinates the Farm Immersion Program, teaches 9th grade Seminar, and cooks. After over 20 years of living on campus, Dana now lives in Iowa City with her family. In her spare time, she likes to read, hike, sing, and play with her kids.
