This summer, your child will develop their passion for art and explore various mediums with professional artists; delve into Spanish language and culture; and learn about sustainable organic farming and prairie management. Students will also experience a traditional summer day camp program that instills the values of community, cooperation, responsibility, and independence. Scattergood's 126 acre campus and farm is the setting for campers to enjoy games, recreation, and friendship.
For nearly 125 years, Scattergood has been an inclusive, student-centered, inquiry-based and project-centered educational program adhering to Quaker principles of faith and practice.
The School Committee's recent report to Iowa Yearly Meeting (Conservative) has challenged all of us who love and care about Scattergood's mission to take notice, to commit and invest in its future. Scattergood is a way of life we can point to as a possibility for all. The school has continued to offer an excellent education for many who could not otherwise afford this private education and has been strongly committed to providing the financial means for students accepted to the program.
During the annual meeting for IYM(C), we were asked by the School Committee to realign duties for the coming school year.

Admission to Scattergood is based solely on student qualifications. Financial need is not a consideration. When we admit a student, we strive to finance that student.
This year 67% of our students required financial aid. Our Annual Fund bridges the gap to ensure that students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds can learn and grow at Scattergood.
Scattergood's School Committee, Foundation, and Trustees invite YOU to help us meet our goal of funding tuition assistance for this school year. Members from each of these groups have personally pledged to match new gifts of every dollar you give, up to $10,000.
